Shelley – this is probably the easiest way to provide my best recommendations for your family going to Tokyo.  This way, they merely need to click on this link whenever they’d like or need to:
 

Coming from Meguro, they can take the Yamanote Line (Subway, Green Line) from Meguro to central Tokyo.  It’s a single train and it takes 18 minutes, for about 200 Yen (about $1.60).
 

Now for my best recommendations for dining in Tokyo:

Unique restaurant: Gonpachi Roppongi restaurant – Located not too far from Meguro, by train.  It’s famously known for its scene in Quentin Tarantino’s 2004 film Kill Bill, Gonpachi Nishi-Azabu’s nostalgic atmosphere brings you back to a Japan of a bygone era.  https://gonpachi.jp/nishi-azabu/
